We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and results-oriented Machinery Finance Broker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating finance solutions for clients seeking to acquire or lease machinery across various industries such as arboriculture, construction, agriculture, recycling, and engineering. You’ll work with a broad range of clients, from SMEs to large corporations, helping them secure financing tailored to their needs.
As a Machinery Finance Broker, you will leverage your expertise to develop relationships with clients, understand their equipment financing requirements, and match them with suitable lending partners. Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Identify and reach out to potential clients within target industries who require machinery financing.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, acting as their trusted advisor throughout the finance process.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments to understand clients’ financial situations, machinery requirements, and business objectives.
- Finance Arrangement:
- Source and secure suitable finance options for clients from a panel of lenders, including banks, asset finance companies, and specialist lenders.
- Present tailored financing solutions and negotiate terms to best fit clients’ needs, ensuring competitive rates and flexible repayment options.
- Manage end-to-end finance application processes, including documentation, approvals, and compliance checks.
- Market Knowledge & Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, financing trends, and regulatory changes in machinery finance and asset finance.
- Ensure adherence to UK finance regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Data Protection (GDPR).
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, communications, and client details within the company’s CRM.
- Networking & Business Development:
- Develop relationships with equipment dealers, manufacturers, and industry associations to identify leads and build referral networks.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and conferences to promote the company’s services and stay informed of market opportunities.
- Drive business growth by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities within your client portfolio.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: 2-5 years’ experience in asset finance, machinery finance, or related financial services. Familiarity with UK financial regulations and machinery finance is essential.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financing options, interest rates, credit assessments, and financial documentation.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex finance products clearly. Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms.
- Client-Centric Approach: Ability to build long-term client relationships, with a focus on delivering tailored finance solutions and high-quality service.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple client cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of machinery in key sectors such as agriculture, construction, or manufacturing is advantageous.
